Protidin News Desk : The whole world is suffering from corona panic. Lockdown is going on in the country. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres himself has warned that militant groups are using social media to spread hatred and attract young people who spend more time online.

Claiming that militants were taking advantage of the Corona lockdown, the UN secretary-general said on Monday that young people were spending more and more time online because of the lockdown. And with this opportunity, the militant groups have started to make their own team heavier. Militant groups are trying to lure the youth into their group by exploiting their frustration.

Prior to the coronavirus epidemic, he said, one in five young people did not receive education, training or employment, and one in four was affected by violence or conflict. In such a situation, the extremist groups can easily trap the frustrated youth.

Guterres told a meeting of the UN Security Council on “Youth, Peace and Security” that this frustrated youth was truly built on the failure of those in power. As a result, confidence in political institutions and organizations is declining. When such frustration occurs among young people, it is much easier for extremist groups to exploit their anger and frustration, and the risk of extremism increases.

The UN Secretary-General has called for the suspension of education, job losses, family stress, mental health problems and other problems plaguing young people.

An analysis by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) found that Cavid-19 could result in an additional 42 million to 68 million children falling into “extreme poverty” and affecting the school life of 91 percent of the world’s students. More than 150 crore students from 191 countries have difficulty in continuing their studies. This will lead to the collapse of education systems, severely damage the prospects for a better future for children, and potentially spread the seeds of radicalization among young people. Which will pose a threat to peace and security.
